Terms of service
1. ABOUT US
This website is operated by Gauge18 (“Gauge18”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
Gauge18 is a trading name of Pabo Star Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 13195888.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of our website and to purchases made through our online store.
Please read these Terms carefully before using our website or placing an order.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or otherwise affects any statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
2. USING OUR WEBSITE
You may use our website only for lawful purposes.
You must not:
- use the website in any way that violates applicable law;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, our servers or related systems;
- introduce viruses, malware or other harmful code;
- interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- use automated systems to scrape or extract content from the website without our permission where prohibited by law; or
- use our intellectual property without permission.
We may suspend or restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, suspected misuse or other legitimate business reasons.
3. PRODUCT INFORMATION
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, sizes, materials, prices and other information displayed on our website are accurate.
Because screen settings, lighting and photography can affect the appearance of products, colours may vary slightly from how they appear on your device.
Measurements may also be subject to small manufacturing tolerances where appropriate.
Please check product dimensions, gauge, diameter, length, threading type, material and other specifications carefully before ordering body jewellery.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights if a product is faulty, unsafe, not as described or otherwise does not comply with UK consumer law.
4. PRICES AND TAXES
Prices displayed on our website are shown in British Pounds (GBP £) unless clearly stated otherwise.
Where applicable, VAT is included in the prices displayed to customers.
Delivery charges, where applicable, will be shown before you complete your order.
We may change our prices at any time, but price changes will not affect an order after a contract between you and us has been formed.
If we discover an obvious pricing or product information error after you place an order, we may contact you before dispatch.
Where appropriate, you may choose whether to proceed at the corrected price or cancel the affected item for a full refund.
5. PLACING AN ORDER
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the products included in your order.
After placing an order, you will normally receive an automatic order acknowledgement by email.
An automated acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, a contract between you and us is formed when we confirm that your order has been accepted or dispatched.
We may refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
- a product is unavailable;
- payment cannot be authorised;
- there is an obvious pricing or description error;
- we reasonably suspect fraud or unauthorised activity;
- applicable law prevents us from supplying the product;
- the delivery address is outside our current delivery area; or
- we cannot deliver to the address provided.
If payment has already been taken for an order that we cancel, we will refund the relevant amount.
6. PAYMENT
You must provide accurate and complete payment, billing and contact information when placing an order.
Payment methods available to you will be displayed during checkout.
Payments may be processed by Shopify or other authorised third-party payment providers.
We do not normally receive or store your complete payment card details.
Your use of third-party payment services may also be subject to the terms and privacy policies of those providers.
7. DELIVERY
We currently deliver to Great Britain only:
- England;
- Scotland; and
- Wales.
We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland.
Orders placed with a Northern Ireland delivery address will be cancelled and fully refunded.
Available delivery methods, delivery charges and estimated delivery times will be shown on our website, in our Shipping Policy or during checkout.
We will take reasonable steps to dispatch and deliver your order within the stated timeframe.
Unless another delivery period has been agreed with you, goods will normally be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being formed, as required by UK consumer law.
If there is a significant delay, please contact:
info@gauge18.com
Risk During Delivery
Where Gauge18 arranges delivery, the risk of loss or damage to the goods remains with us until the goods are delivered into your physical possession, or to a person identified by you to receive them, to the extent required by UK law.
For further information, please see our Shipping Policy.
8. STATUTORY CANCELLATION RIGHTS
For most eligible online purchases, you normally have the right to notify us that you wish to cancel within 14 days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason.
After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
These rights are subject to exceptions permitted by UK consumer law, including certain health and hygiene exceptions.
To notify us of a cancellation or return, contact:
info@gauge18.com
Please include your order number and the email address used to place the order.
These statutory cancellation rights are separate from our voluntary 30-day returns policy.
9. HYGIENE-SEALED BODY JEWELLERY
For health and hygiene protection, body jewellery may be supplied in sealed hygiene packaging.
The packaging allows you to inspect the jewellery, including its appearance and visible product information, without opening the hygiene seal.
Where body jewellery is sealed and is not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons, a change-of-mind return may not be accepted after the hygiene seal has been broken, removed or tampered with, where UK consumer law permits this restriction.
Please therefore check the product, size, colour, material and specifications carefully before opening the hygiene seal.
The hygiene restriction applies only to change-of-mind returns.
It does not exclude or restrict your statutory rights if goods are:
- faulty;
- damaged;
- incorrect;
- unsafe;
- not as described; or
- otherwise non-conforming under UK consumer law.
Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for further information.
10. RETURNS FOLLOWING A CHANGE OF MIND
Statutory Cancellations
For eligible statutory cancellations, goods should normally be returned without undue delay and within 14 days after notifying us of the cancellation.
Where permitted by law and where you were informed before purchase, you are normally responsible for the direct cost of returning change-of-mind goods.
You may examine goods only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Where permitted by law, we may make an appropriate deduction if the value of returned goods has been reduced by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary.
Nothing in this section removes your statutory consumer rights.
Our 30-Day Voluntary Returns Policy
In addition to your statutory cancellation rights, Gauge18 offers a voluntary 30-day return period from delivery of the last item in your order for eligible products.
For body jewellery returned under this voluntary change-of-mind policy, products must remain in their:
original, unopened and intact hygiene-sealed packaging.
This voluntary policy is additional to your statutory rights and does not replace or restrict them.
Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details.
11. REFUNDS
Where a refund is due under UK consumer law, we will provide that refund within the timeframe and on the terms required by law.
For an eligible statutory cancellation, the refund will normally include:
- the price paid for the returned goods; and
- the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method that we offered when the order was placed.
If you selected a more expensive or expedited delivery service, we are not normally required to refund the additional amount above the cost of our standard delivery service, unless UK consumer law requires otherwise.
Where permitted by law, we may withhold a refund until:
- we have received the goods back; or
- you provide evidence that the goods have been returned,
whichever occurs first.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method unless another method is agreed or the law requires otherwise.
For returns made only under our voluntary 30-day change-of-mind policy, original delivery charges are not normally refundable unless:
- we expressly agree otherwise;
- the goods were faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described; or
- UK consumer law requires a refund.
Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details.
12. FAULTY, DAMAGED, INCORRECT OR NON-CONFORMING GOODS
Your rights relating to faulty, damaged, incorrect, unsafe or misdescribed goods are separate from our voluntary change-of-mind returns policy.
Goods supplied by Gauge18 must, among other things, be:
- of satisfactory quality;
- fit for purpose; and
- as described.
UK consumer law provides statutory remedies where goods do not conform to the contract, including a short-term right to reject qualifying goods and further remedies where applicable.
If you believe you have received a faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed item, please contact:
info@gauge18.com
Please provide:
- your order number;
- a description of the issue; and
- where useful, photographs showing the problem.
We will provide the remedy required by UK consumer law.
Where Gauge18 is legally responsible for faulty, damaged, incorrect or non-conforming goods, we will bear reasonable return costs where required by law.
Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, improper handling, normal wear and tear or use contrary to applicable product instructions is not considered a manufacturing fault, except where UK consumer law provides otherwise.
13. PROMOTIONS AND DISCOUNT CODES
From time to time we may offer promotional prices, special offers or discount codes.
Unless otherwise stated:
- promotions are subject to availability;
- discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
- only one discount code may be used per order;
- promotions may exclude certain products;
- promotions may have an expiry date; and
- additional conditions may apply where clearly disclosed.
Any specific conditions displayed with a promotion form part of that promotion.
We may withdraw or amend a promotion before an order is placed, but this will not affect an order already accepted by us unless permitted by law.
14. ACCOUNTS AND CUSTOMER INFORMATION
If you create an account or provide information when ordering, you are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and current.
You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential.
Please contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
We may suspend an account where reasonably necessary to protect customers, Gauge18 or our services from suspected fraud, misuse or security risks.
15. REVIEWS, PHOTOGRAPHS AND USER CONTENT
If you voluntarily submit a product review, photograph, video, comment or other content to us or through a review service used by Gauge18, you remain the owner of your content.
By submitting content for publication, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and use that content in connection with our website, products and marketing, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
You confirm that content you submit:
- is your own or you have permission to submit it;
- does not infringe another person's rights;
- is not unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent or misleading; and
- does not contain viruses or other malicious software.
We may moderate or remove content where reasonably necessary, including content that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, irrelevant, misleading or infringes another person's rights.
We do not require reviews to be positive and we do not knowingly publish fake or misleading reviews.
16. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or use services provided by third parties, including:
- payment providers;
- delivery providers;
- review platforms;
- analytics providers;
- advertising services; and
- social media services.
We are not responsible for the content or operation of third-party websites that we do not control.
You should review the applicable terms and privacy policies of third-party services that you choose to use.
Nothing in this section excludes any responsibility that Gauge18 has under applicable law.
17. PRIVACY, COOKIES AND SHOPIFY
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Our online store is hosted by Shopify.
Shopify collects and processes personal information when you visit or make purchases through Gauge18 in order to provide its ecommerce platform and related services.

This means Shopify may process information relating to your interactions with Gauge18 together with information from your interactions with Shopify and other Shopify merchants in order to provide Enhanced Services.
These services may include helping us and Shopify to:
- provide more personalised shopping experiences;

You can review or change your choices using the Cookie Preferences link on our website.
18. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, content on the Gauge18 website, including:
- text;
- Gauge18 branding;
- logos;
- graphics;
- photographs;
- designs; and
- other materials owned by us
is protected by applicable intellectual property law.
You may use the website for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works from our protected content without our permission unless permitted by law.
Third-party trademarks, content and materials remain the property of their respective owners.
19. OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- breach of mandatory statutory consumer rights; or
- any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill, where required by law.
If you purchase goods primarily for personal use, we are not responsible for business losses such as:
- loss of profit;
- loss of business;
- business interruption; or
- loss of business opportunity,
to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms affects rights or remedies that UK consumer law gives you and which cannot legally be excluded.
20. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR REASONABLE CONTROL
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control where the law permits this.
Such events may include circumstances affecting postal services, transport networks, communications systems, utilities or other services outside our reasonable control.
If an event significantly affects your order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and will contact you where appropriate.
Any statutory consumer rights relating to significant delivery delays, non-delivery or cancellation remain unaffected.
21. CHANGES TO THE WEBSITE AND THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to:
- our business;
- our website;
- our services;
- third-party services we use; or
- applicable laws and regulations.
The Terms applicable to a purchase will normally be those in force when the contract for that purchase was formed.
Changes made after a contract has been formed will not retrospectively reduce your contractual or statutory rights unless permitted by law or expressly agreed with you.
The latest version of these Terms will be published on this page.
22. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
23. NO WAIVER
If we do not immediately exercise or enforce a right available to us under these Terms, this does not mean that we have waived that right.
24. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These Terms and contracts between you and Gauge18 are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction rights that apply.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland, mandatory consumer protections that apply to you remain unaffected and you may have the right to bring proceedings in the Scottish courts where applicable.
Nothing in this section is intended to deprive you of consumer protections or jurisdiction rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We encourage you to contact us first if you experience a problem with an order so that we can try to resolve the matter.
